Fotoszene Berlin – Jens Pepper – Book Launch

Jens Pepper presents his new book ‘Fotoszene Berlin’ – interviews with twenty-five Berlin photographers, gallery owners, photo historians, booksellers, publishers and curators – with portraits by Christian Reister.

Insights into the different working environments, ideas and goals of the interviewees convey the versatility of the medium and the importance of supporting and exchanging a vital scene. In cooperation with Klak Verlag.

The talk will be held in German.

Bernd Fischer – Leuchte mein Stern – Vernissage & Book Presentation

The analogue color photographs by filmmaker and photographer Bernd Fischer, taken on trips through the Soviet Union between 1990 and 1994, show the imploding of a world power in an engaging and artistically independent way. Street photography as observations of everyday life in times of change. The pictures of Bernd Fischer take us back to those amazing days, to a time when all over Eastern Europe a sudden hope of unlimited freedom emerged. A freedom along with the sense of loss of power and security.

Michael Stipe – Book Launch, Artist Talk & Signing

After her successful exhibition at the Rencontres d’Arles, we are very happy to present a collection of prints and the fantastic photobook ‘Evokativ’ on Untitled Books here at Bildband Berlin!
Jarcovjáková photographed nightlife, minority groups and marginalised people in the 1970s and 1980s in Prague, a dark time for freedom, and an authentic record of the life of a photographer who experienced everything she shot.
After the talk will be a book signing – the talk will be held in German.
