Alexander Chekmenev – Forgotten Land

Pamiršta žemje / Forgotten Land was published on the occasion of the personal exhibition of Oleksandr Chekmenev – one of the most influential Ukrainian photographers. The exhibition was held in November 2020 as part of the Klaipeda Photography Festival at the Klaipeda Cultural Communication Center.

The publication presents several projects created by the photographer over the past 30 years — “Donbas” (1994-2011), “Black and White Luhansk” (1992-1997), “Lilies” (1999), “Passport” (1994-1995) and “Deleted” (2018-2020). The catalog is accompanied by articles by Donald Weber and Oleksandra Osadchai in English and Lithuanian
