Lara Conama Mumenthaler - Rarica
Lotta Books & 2LAB 2024
Rarica is an intimate and captivating journey that rediscovers the origins of a family, intertwining the memories and images of the Mumenthalers, like fragments of a past that refuses to fade away.
Their roots, once firmly planted in Swiss soil, were receiving too much water. Change was inevitable, and so, driven by a wind blowing between the mountains and the sea, Johannes and Emma set out on a new journey to Catania.
Here, under the warm Sicilian sky, life is reborn, sprouting, and the tree grows stronger, branching out, growing in a new land, distant yet so close to its Swiss roots.
The story unfolds through their footsteps, spanning five generations, until it reaches Sandro and his granddaughter Lara, who quietly decide to collect and preserve the family’s memories, like precious fragments to be protected from the fading of time.
The sweet and penetrating scent of lemon blossoms becomes the common thread that unites all the memories of this family. A scent that belongs not only to their family but also to many others.
